Monmouth Federal Credit Union Members Agree to Merge with Great Falls Regional Federal Credit Union

Monmouth Federal Credit Union members have agreed to merge with/into Great Falls Regional Federal Credit Union. This is a merger of two healthy and financially strong credit unions that benefit both member groups. This partnership will provide access to a number of convenient branch locations, competitive loan and deposit rates, stronger technology, and new products and services for our members.

Why bring the two credit unions together?

We want to bring our members the best value while we ensure we can continue to grow and thrive. By partnering with another long-time established credit union in the second largest populated city in Maine, we will significantly increase operating efficiencies resulting in the resources to deliver more to our joint member base.

Will the name of our credit union change?

No. We will continue to be known as Great Falls Regional Federal Credit Union. Monmouth Federal Credit Union will be Monmouth, a branch of Great Falls Regional Federal Credit Union.

What about hours and locations?

Do not worry. Our hours and operations will not change. We want this to be as seamless as possible.

When will I be able to access my account in Monmouth?

We do not have a definitive date, and we are working diligently to provide you access to your Great Falls accounts from our Monmouth branch.  We will keep members updated via our website, social media, and email.

Will we be able to access shared branching?

Yes. We are currently on target to implement Shared Branching during the summer of 2022. We will keep members updated via our website, email, and social media.

Will my member number or account number change?

We will be providing members with timely updated information regarding any modifications to their member number and account number, if applicable.

Will my Debit/ATM card and checks continue to work?

Yes. Members will be able to continue to use their current Debit/ATM card and checks during this process.

What will happen to the staff of each credit union?

All credit union employees will be retained. Credit Unions have always been about local people serving other locals. Expect to see the same friendly faces serving our membership.

How will this affect management?

Catherina (Cathy) Blais from Monmouth Federal Credit Union, will become the CEO. Nancy Bard, the CEO of Great Falls Regional Credit Union has retired after 45 years of loyal service. Cathy and Nancy have fulfilled the philosophy of championing community outreach programs and continue to achieve putting the needs of their members first. Both individuals have run their respective credit unions for decades of combined experience with the idea of “people helping people.”
